Co-creation of narratives with students of the 1st level Master in Tourism Enhancement and Cultural Heritage Management from University of Bologna

The aim of this good practice was the development of narratives in the form of podcasts to discover the history and natural heritage of the Argenta Marshes and surrounding area. The narratives cover different aspects of the Po Delta area and the Argenta Municipality. Some focus on the historical facts, some more on the naturalistic aspects, but the common element is water and its management in a territory which was previously a marsh.

Pilgrimage Ways for All

Accessibility to pilgrimage ways, their services and physical/digital interpretation contents is important to the quality of pilgrims' and tourists' experience along the way. The exploration of cost-effectiveness and efficient management and consumption of services not only in the main paths but also in the surrounding rural areas can lead to a more balanced distributions of resources and benefits. Future research should paid attention to achieving an universal accessibility. Although physical accessibility to pilgrimage ways has been larger considered in pilgrimage ways, there is still a long way to develop experiences and content for all kind of people based on the design of inclusive dissemination materials in the field of promotion of rural heritage.

An holistic approach to rural heritage and pilgrimage

Another priority area for future research and innovation should be to promote a holistic approach to pilgrimage and rural heritage. It is needed to go on working on the study and communication of the links between natural and cultural heritage in a broad sense, that is, as a combination of tangible and intangible assets that have contributed to the creation of identities, and therefore, can be today sources to overcome distances, frontiers and barriers, but also to overcome social and territorial challenges.
