I Love Francigena Thermal

The aim of this action was to promote the Via Francigena and its thermal heritage with a hiking event open to the public, to connect the local authorities and associations, and to promote sustainable tourism by using an established format “I love Francigena” adapted to the objectives of the WP5 thus building on previous strengths. The event has reached a number of stakeholders and a wide audience, also with a broad geographical coverage, and with an effective use of human resources.

Accessibility workshop in Bagno Vignoni

The principal objective was to create a fully accessible experience to the thermal heritage of Bagno Vignoni, focusing on people with visual disabilities, but also enriching the experience of the public in general. The workshop conducted for the visually impaired people, and people with disabilities were invited to be active creators of content and not mere receivers. The activity showed the possibility of generating fully accessible dissemination activities about the thermal heritage along the Via Francigena.

Cooperation beyond territorial boundaries

To improve the collaboration between different European countries in what respect to pilgrimage routes is key for a more balanced development. Therefore, one of the key aspects of the future research and innovation in the promotion of rural heritage in the surroundings of pilgrimage routes should be to foster the connections between different rural regions and countries based on common cultural elements. rurAllure consortium have demonstrated how powerful a wide team can be in that purpose and how much leading routes in the field, such as the Saint James Way or the Via Francigena can help others in earlier stages of development to be feed by solutions already tested, that is, how much we can learn from each other when collaboration beyond boundaries is promoted.
